advertisement
RailAmerica Inc. recently launched a redesigned Web site that offers up-to-date information and user-friendly tools for its 42 U.S. and Canadian railroads.
Accessible at www.railamerica.com, the site features a customer console with separate portals for each regional and short line. The portals provide such customized information as downloadable railroad maps, interchange points with connecting carriers, personnel contact information, shipping documents, and current charges, tariffs and fuel surcharges.
In addition, the site offers a real estate tab and industrial development page, where visitors can access information on RailAmerica’s network of third-party warehouses, transload facilities and bulk terminals.
The company plans to implement various customer tools for each railroad in the near future. The tools will include shipment billing entry, equipment tracking, service updates, credit applications and information bulletins.
