MTA New York City Transit recently contracted Novell to improve security for the agency’s information technology (IT) infrastructure and computer network access.
NYCT will use Novell® identity and security management systems to centralize and automate employee access to network resources for 49,000 workers in 500 locations. IT staff will use centralized identity management to provide users a single I.D. and password to access applications.
Novell’s systems will help NYCT boost security as the agency transitions from a manual to a computerized train-control network, and improve IT functionality across a mixed operating environment.
