Kansas City Southern is implementing a three-phased plan to develop a document management center at its Kansas City, Mo., headquarters.
The center would combine mail functions, and document and database management into "a more visible and user-friendly service," according to a prepared statement.
By March 30, KCS plans to relocate its mailroom and distribution services to the third floor.
Later (under phase 2), the railroad expects to expand its document center by adding production, distribution and image-storage services. Under phase 3, the Class I plans to install new document-processing equipment.
KCS named Leanne Roller executive administrator to manage the center. She also will retain her duties as executive assistant to KCS Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Haverty.
