Mexican inland port developer INVITE and U.S. logistics park developer The Allen Group recently agreed to create an intermodal trade corridor between the United States and Mexico.

The Allen Group is developing a 6,000-acre logistics park near Dallas, which will include a BNSF Railway Co. intermodal terminal. Owned by the state of Nuevo Leon, INVITE is developing Interpuerto, a logistics hub in Monterrey, Mexico. The parties plan to collaborate on several initiatives, including the designation of a customs pre-clearance zone to expedite the flow of goods between Dallas and Monterrey via truck and rail.

“This proprietary transportation system will result in better delivery times and increased competitiveness of Mexican goods being delivered to the Dallas Logistics Hub,” said The Allen Group President Dan McAuliffe in a prepared statement.

INVITE currently is working to improve logistics between Mexico and Texas, including the development of Monterrey as a logistics gateway.
