The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) recently released the 2010 edition of the National Transportation Atlas Databases (NTAD), which premieres the Federal Railroad Administration’s rail bridge database.
NTAD comprises 29 datasets, 11 of which were updated in the 2010 edition. The publication includes “substantial” revisions to railways, waterways and the Federal Highway Administration’s national bridge inventory, according to BTS. NTAD also includes data on intermodal terminals, grade crossings, and transit-rail lines and stations.
The publication’s format is compatible with most Geographical Information Systems software, according to BTS.
