Members of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) elected the 2026-2027 slate of officers at the association's annual meeting, held during APTA’s TRANSform Conference & EXPO in Chicago Oct. 4-7.
Denise Figueroa, board member of the Capital District Transportation Authority of Albany, New York, was elected chair; Randy Clarke, general manager and CEO of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, was elected vice chair. Jannet Walker-Ford, of American multinational engineering and design firm WSP USA, will continue her 2025–2028 term as secretary-treasurer.
Leanne Redden, the outgoing executive director of Chicago’s Regional Transit Authority (predecessor of the Northern Illinois Transit Authority), will serve as immediate past chair.
In addition, six members were elected to three-year terms on the APTA executive committee, and 12 were elected to three-year terms on the APTA board, six as transit system directors and six as business member directors.
