Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit recently broke ground on a station in Dublin/Pleasanton — the agency’s first new station since 2003.
The facility — to be located on an Interstate 580 median — will fill a 10-mile gap between the Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton stations. The station is being built as part of a public-private partnership between the transit district, city governments and private developers, who will build housing, retail stores, offices and a hotel near the facility.
