French national railway Société Nationale des Chamins de Fer recently placed a $393.2 million order for seven complete dual-voltage trainsets and 15 sets of eight passenger cars with an ALSTOM Transport/Bombardier Transportation consortium.

The order is part of a master agreement, under which the ALSTOM-led consortium will provide SNCF 82 TGV Duplex trainsets.

ALSTOM’s portion of the contract is worth $298 million. The supplier will manufacture the trainsets and cars at its Aytré, Belfort, Le Cruesot, Ornans, Tarbes and Villeurbanne facilities.
