Retlif Testing Laboratories founder Poggi receives independent lab council's highest award

Retlif Testing Laboratories Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Walter Poggi recently received the Lewis E. Harris Fellow Award from The American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL). The award recognizes outstanding service and dedication to the U.S. independent testing industry.

Retlif founder and longtime U.S. test lab advocate, Poggi is the 14th person to obtain ACIL's honor in the award's 67-year history. He has served the council for more than 20 years as a board member, and chairman of the government relations committee and eastern division. Poggi also served two terms as ACIL president.

"Poggi has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the testing industry's development," said ACIL Executive Director Joan Walsh Cassedy in a prepared statement. "His leadership and tenacity have served the industry well in setting standards for excellence and quaility."

The award is named after Lewis Harris, the former president of Harris Laboratories who died earlier this year at the age of 94.
