Greater Cleveland RTA obtains TSA grant to upgrade security

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) recently received a $423,227 grant from the Transportation Security Administration to improve security at its rail complex.

The funds were awarded through the Transit Security Grant Program, which provides grants to transit systems in "high-risk" areas. Since 2005, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded about $3.3 million to GCRTA through the program.
