Yesterday, Union Pacific Railroad announced nine appointments in the operations and track engineering departments.
The Class I named:
• Byron Schroeder, superintendent-network operations;
• Greg Garrison, general superintendent-Harriman Dispatching Center (HDC) West to succeed Schroeder;
• Rod Richardson, general superintendent-HDC Central to succed Garrison;
• Lance Hardisty, superintendent in St. Paul, Minn., to succeed Richardson;
• Monty Whatley, general superintendent of transportation services-North Little Rock to succeed Jeff Crandall, who left the railroad;
• Marc Syring, superintendent of transportation services-Livonia to succeed Whatley;
• Dave Connell, assistant vice president-construction to succeed Darrel Deterding who retired after serving UP for 33 years;
• Bill Roe, chief engineer-Central Region to succeed Connell; and
• Brennan Banion, general director-engineering technology to succeed Roe.
