TNW Corp. yesterday announced it has hired Micah Powell as sales director to oversee the company's revenue department, customer relationships and long-term growth of TNW railroads and logistics business.

Powell began his career with over 18 years in leadership positions at Union Pacific Railroad, serving in senior roles such as senior business manager in Detroit and Omaha, Nebraska.

He later joined Genesee & Wyoming Inc. where he spent more than nine years as vice president of sales and marketing for the Rapid City, Pierre, & Eastern Railroad and G&W’s Western region.

"The depth and breadth of [Powell's] experience will be a great benefit to our customers and to our continued growth," said TNW CEO Paul Treangen in a press release.

Dallas-based TNW operates three short lines (TXR, TXGN and TXNW) and four transload facilities in Texas. The company also owns one of the largest private rail-car storages facilities in the United States.
