The New Jersey Transit board announced yesterday that Daniel Rogust has been appointed senior vice president and general manager, NJ Transit rail operations. Rogust has been serving as acting head of rail operations since the retirement of James Sincaglia on July 31 after 30 years with the agency. Rogust has more than two decades of railroad experience, most recently as deputy general manager of equipment for NJ Transit. He has held various roles at NJ Transit, starting his career in mechanical maintenance and steadily advancing to senior leadership roles, NJ Transit officials said in a press release. He also spent time at Siemens Mobility, leading large-scale locomotive maintenance programs, before returning to NJ Transit in 2023.

Urban Engineers Inc. has announced the election of James Bilella, the firm’s president and CEO, to the firm’s board. Bilella has been with Urban for more than 30 years and has held leadership roles in several service areas. Most recently, he served as vice president and market leader for rail and transit, leading complex infrastructure and facilities projects across light rail, heavy rail, subway and other public transportation systems, Urban officials said. Urban Engineers is a multidisciplinary planning, design, environmental and construction support services consulting firm with 13 regional offices throughout the U.S. Urban serves clients across facilities, ports and waterways, public transportation, railroads, airports, energy and utilities, bridges and roadways.
