Patriot Rail Co. yesterday announced it hired Josie Curtis as vice president of people strategy to support the short-line and regional railroad operator's growth.
Curtis has nearly two decades of industry experience, including in human resources leadership roles at R. J. Corman Railroad Group. In prior roles, Curtis oversaw HR operations for more than 1,400 employees across 23 states and supported more than a dozen subsidiaries in a highly regulated, safety-sensitive environment, Patriot Rail officials said in a press release.
In her new job, Curtis will oversee Patriot Rail's comprehensive people strategy; lead talent acquisition and development, employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits and performance management.
"Her strategic approach and commitment to building strong, engaged teams will be instrumental as we continue strengthening our people and culture," said Patriot Rail Chief Legal Officer Brad Gordon.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Patriot Rail owns 31 short lines and four excursion railroads, and provides various support services, including transloading, rail-car storage, and real estate and logistics planning and assistance. The company's principal operations consist of freight-rail transportation and ancillary services, operating over 1,200 miles in 23 states.
