LRW accepting nominations for Railway Woman of the Year

The League of Railway Women (LRW) is seeking nominations for its 2026 Railway Woman of the Year Award. Nominations are due Oct. 9 and can be completed online.

Co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading, the annual award recognizes a woman who is an outstanding leader in the rail industry, and who consistently demonstrates excellence, drives innovation and paves the way for future generations.

The LRW is seeking a woman in rail who:

• Establishes a bold vision while fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement;
• Overcomes industry challenges and drives initiatives that help attract, retain and advance women in rail;
• Delivers a lasting impact on the rail sector through bold innovation and industry leadership;
• Brings high standards of leadership and dedication to both her organization and her local community; and
• Cultivates a safety-first mindset, actively demonstrating and promoting safe rail practices.

Nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by the LRW Railway Woman of the Year Advisory Committee. The recipient will be honored at the NRC 2027 Conference and NRC-REMSA Exhibition, to be held Jan. 6-9, 2027.
