advertisement
Yesterday, Ann Begeman was sworn in as a member of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB).
Begeman has more than 20 years of experience in transportation policy. She served as a senior aide on Capitol Hill for 21 years, playing a key role in crafting major transportation legislation, including the ICC Termination Act, which created the STB.
Prior to joining the board, she served as Republican staff director for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. She also served as acting chief of staff and legislative director for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and as legislative assistant for then-Sen. Larry Pressler (R-S.D.).
In December 2010, President Obama nominated Begeman to serve on the STB; in April, the Senate confirmed her nomination.
