Montreal, Maine & Atlantic appoints Jones to succeed Schauer as head of sales, marketing

Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway Ltd. (MMA) recently named Frederick Jones vice president of sales and marketing to succeed William Schauer, who plans to retire after serving as the railroad's VP of marketing since MMA's January 2003 start up and spending 41 years in the railroad industry.

With 18 years' experience in railroad sales and marketing, Jones most recently served as a logistics and sales training consultant. He previously served in various sales and marketing positions with Canadian National Railway Co., CSX Transportation and PPG Industries Chemicals Division.

"We want to welcome Fred to the MMA family and wish Bill a long and enjoyable retirement," said MMA President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Grindrod in a prepared statement. "We especially want to thank Bill for all that he has done to strengthen MMA's customer base and develop new business for the future."

MMA operates 745 track miles in Maine, Vermont, New Brunswick and Quebec.
