Silvi Cement, a division of Silvi Materials, is expanding its rail-served distribution network with a new terminal in Greenville, South Carolina, and the opening of a previously announced terminal in Columbus, Ohio.
The Greenville terminal is expected to be operational in October. The Columbus facility, previously identified as the company's Central Ohio terminal, is expected to be operational in fourth-quarter 2026 and will offer 24/7 loading capabilities, Silvi officials said in a press release.
Both facilities will distribute Type I/II low-alkali cement and Grade 120 slag.
"Our continued investment in rail infrastructure is about building the network we need to reliably serve our customers as Silvi Materials grows," said Laurence Silvi II, co-president of Silvi Materials. "These facilities are another step in building a distribution network that can support our customers and our company for years to come."
Silvi’s flagship terminal in Bristol, Pennsylvania, is one of the largest cement import terminals in North America, with three storage domes providing a combined capacity of 165,000 metric tons. That terminal is served by Conrail, which interchanges with Norfolk Southern Railway and CSX.
