Rio Grande Pacific Corp. announced that John Spellman will lead its team of rail-industry experts as president of RIOTECH.
Spellman joined Rio Grande in 2018 through the acquisition of Innovation Solutions in Signaling. His 25 years of experience in the rail industry includes roles as signal engineer, lead and principal in domestic projects for heavy- and light-rail transit lines, Class Is, commuter rail, streetcar systems and regionals and short lines, Rio Grande officials said in a press release.
Spellman is a licensed professional engineer in seven states.
"John’s years of experience, ability to manage projects and lead people makes him the ideal person to lead our RIOTECH team’s excellence in signal engineering, integrations, construction and maintenance-of-way services and innovative technology solutions," said Rio Grande Pacific President Bob Bach.
RIOTECH provides signal engineering design services, technology software and solutions to transit agencies and freight railroads across the United States.
