VIA Rail Canada Inc. recently introduced new schedules on the Montreal-Ottawa route to cut travel times.

Trip times will be shortened by as much as 15 minutes and arrival and departure times for some trains will be changed to better suit riders' needs, VIA Rail officials said in a prepared statement.

As a result of the new schedules, trips between Ottawa and Montreal could take less than two hours, according to the agency.
