Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon’s (TriMet) ridership rose more than 2 percent last month compared with October 2010.
The agency’s rush-hour ridership reached its highest level in three years, and new records were set for the MAX Green Line light-rail and WES commuter-rail services, TriMet officials said in a prepared statement. Bus ridership also posted gains in all categories.
The MAX Green Line’s weekday trips jumped 8.3 percent to a record 24,800, while weekend trips increased 6.7 percent to 25,500.
WES weekday/rush-hour and weekly trip categories both soared 18.2 percent to record highs of 1,690 and 8,450, respectively.
