Santa Clara VTA to upgrade eight crossings

On Wednesday, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (SCVTA) will begin improving eight Caltrain crossings in Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Palo Alto, Calif.
Work calls for modifying crossing gates and installing new guardrails, fences, pedestrian and emergency swing gates, sidewalks, crossing panels and warning tactile panels.
Construction is expected to be completed by late June 2011.
