SFMTA's Muni fares to increase July 1
advertisement
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees the Municipal Railway (Muni), will raise Muni fares $1 to $2, effective July 1.
The fare increases will include all monthly passes. The regular $2 cash fare, cash senior, disabled and youth fares will not change, SFMTA officials said in a prepared statement. Most parking citation fines also will increase $7 to $8.
The increases were included in the upcoming two-year budget. Community input, gathered in February, March and April, was “essential in determining the final budget priorities and funding options,” SFMTA officials said.
