Rail News: Passenger Rail
Tomorrow, the Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. (Metra) will break ground on a new depot at the commuter-rail station in the Edison Park neighborhood.
To be constructed just north of the station’s existing depot, the 1,900-square-foot building will include office space for the local Chamber of Commerce, which will manage the facility. The $1.1 million project is scheduled to be complete in spring 2007.
Located on Chicago’s far northwest side, the Edison Park station is part of Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line.
