The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has rebuilt its mobile app for MTA New York City Transit subway and bus riders.
The refreshed app provides riders with arrival times for trains and buses near them, estimated times of arrival at future stops and real-time location updates for vehicles, said MTA officials in a press release. It also features a live customer support chat.
Passengers can download the new app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store; users of the prior MTA subway and bus app can update the old version. The updated app does not replace the MTA TrainTime app, which riders can use to buy and use tickets, plan trips and track trains for MTA Metro-North Railroad and MTA Long Island Rail Road routes.
Additional updates to the app are expected later in 2026, MTA officials said.
