Next week, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will co-sponsor the first 2009 workshop in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Transit Series, which is conducted by the Federal Transit Administration and National Council for Public-Private Partnerships.
To be held March 25 and 26 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the workshop will cover federal stimulus package and implications for transit projects, statutory and regulatory requirements and factors in financing transit PPPs, as well as provide an overview of case studies throughout the country. Participants will review best practices and explore options for expanding transit infrastructure and services through PPPs.
The event will enable Atlanta-area transportation stakeholders to showcase the region's transit expansion plans and learn more about innovative financing options for transit and other infrastructure projects, MARTA said.
