MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) recently opened the Mineola Intermodal Center, where passengers can transfer between LIRR trains and MTA Long Island buses.

Located on the south side of LIRR’s Mineola Station, the 88,000-square-foot facility serves as the terminus for seven bus routes. The center features more than 700 parking spaces, a pedestrian overpass connecting the north and south sides of the station and parking fee collection machines. The facility also serves as a regional office for the MTA Police and a Long Island Bus dispatch center.

The $45 million project was funded by the Federal Transit Administration and New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
