The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A.Metro) has released its proposed $8 billion budget for fiscal-year 2022, which will start July 1.
L.A. Metro's board will consider the budget as part of its May round of meetings, according to a post on the agency's website.
The proposed budget is balanced and focuses on recovery from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic through an equity lens, agency officials said.
Service restoration is a priority in the budget, as the agency looks to restore bus and rail service to pre-pandemic levels.
Also in the budget: the Crenshaw/LAX and Regional Connector projects are set to begin pre-revenue operations and testing that will ultimately lead to the offering of more transit options across the country.
