Today, Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) officials plan to mark the start of a $3.3 million project designed to update the Buckeye-Woodhill Rapid Transit Station on the Blue and Green lines.
“This updated station will have an attractive, high-quality design that is passenger friendly and will make the Buckeye-Woodhill Rapid Transit Station universally accessible,” GCRTA Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Joe Calabrese said in a prepared statement.
The contemporary design will feature transparent fiberglass panels over the eastbound and westbound platforms. The panels will be designed to create a “halo effect” during evening hours, according to GCRTA.
Service to the station will continue during the 15 months of construction.
