The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) on Friday will begin tie-in work at the Nine Mile Station, which will connect the new R Line to the existing light-rail system.Crews will integrate the overhead contact system with RTD's current system. They'll complete the work Oct. 25.The work ultimately will mean that the Nine Mile Station, near Interstate-225 and Parker Road in Aurora, Colo., will no longer be an end-of-line station for the agency's light-rail system, RTD officials said in a news release. When the R line opens in late 2016, Peoria Station will be the final terminus on the north end, while the H Line will end at Florida Station.
