Chicago mayor, CTA mark completion of Red Line station renovations
advertisement
On Monday, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and other city officials gathered to mark the completion of renovations on the north entrance of the CTA Red Line Cermak-Chinatown station.
The new entrance again will serve as the main stationhouse. In June 2010, CTA opened a new auxiliary entrance two blocks north of Cermak that allowed the station to remain open during renovations. That entrance will remain in use as a secondary entrance and exit.
The $12.5 million project was funded with federal stimulus dollars.
