Utah Transit Authority tweaks commuter, light rail services

advertisement

The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) plans to make changes to its FrontRunner commuter rail, TRAX light rail and bus operations to increase efficiency and improve customer service.

The changes include reduced travel time on FrontRunner between Salt Lake City and Ogden; improved coordination between express buses and FrontRunner trains to increase service frequency; and more direct TRAX trains between Sandy and the University of Utah.

System upgrades, restructured station operations and sidings will enable UTA to reduce travel time between Salt Lake City and Ogden by several minutes. In addition, modifications to Salt Lake Central Station TRAX service will result in trains terminating at Arena Station and University trains continuing to the Salt Lake station.
