Unifor members ratify new contract with Canadian Pacific

Canadian Pacific yesterday announced that Unifor members have ratified a new two-year collective agreement that covers 1,200 CP employees in Canada.
Unifor represents CP's mechanical employees responsible for maintaining rail cars and locomotives.
"Ratifying this agreement is a positive step for our mechanical employees and another example of CP’s willingness to negotiate in good faith with our union partners," said CP President and CEO Keith Creel in a press release.
CP has successfully negotiated three tentative collective agreements with its unions in 2023, including this one with Unifor announced in January and ratified this month.
The new contract includes gains to group benefit maximums, enhancements to job security allowances and significant increases to shift premiums, Unifor officials said in a press release. The contract will expire Dec. 31, 2024.
