CSX today named 55 recipients of its 32nd annual Chemical Safety Excellence Awards, which honor shippers for outstanding performance in the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
The honorees each shipped at least 600 carloads of hazardous materials on the CSX network in 2025 without a controllable hazmat release, CSX officials said in a press release. The railroad also recognized shippers that achieved milestone anniversaries without a controllable hazmat release in 2025.
Kemira Water Solutions was recognized for 25 years, CHS Inc. for 15 years, and Olin ChlorAlkali and Evonik Degussa Corp. for five years of safe chemical transportation.
"Our customers are essential partners in keeping the economy moving," said Maryclare Kenney, CSX senior vice president and chief commercial officer. "These companies earned this recognition through exceptional safety performance, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting employees and communities across our network."
