CSX recently presented a commemorative rail spike to the Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corp. to mark the selection of the Madisonville Industrial Park II as Kentucky's first Silver Level CSX Select Site.
The recognition is an acknowledgement of the site's "strong infrastructure, direct rail access and readiness for industrial growth," CSX officials said in a press release.
Designated sites meet stringent criteria for infrastructure, site preparedness and streamlined regulatory compliance, ensuring they are ready for immediate development.
Adding to the momentum, Canada-based E. Hofmann Plastics on July 29 broke ground on a build-ready site adjacent to the CSX mainline in Hopkins County, an investment of $43 million that will lead to a 100,000-square-foot plant by 2026, according to CSX.
“This represents E. Hofmann Plastics’ first facility investment in the United States. CSX is excited to serve as the rail partner supporting their growth and success," said Jody Lassiter, CSX's manager of industrial development.
