Rail News: CSX Transportation
CSX lays off 125 as part of management cost-cutting

CSX recently implemented changes to its management structure that resulted in the layoffs of 125 employees, the Class I confirmed late last week.
The changes were made "as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to continually improve business performance and ensure the company’s long-term success," a CSX spokesperson said in an email.
"These employees will be provided with robust support during this transition, including competitive severance and employment transition services," the spokesperson said. "The decision reflects the company’s commitment to aligning resources with business needs and will help ensure that CSX continues to deliver for all of our stakeholders."
The impacted employees are from locations across CSX's 26-state network, although 77 of those employees were stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, where the company is based and employs 2,000 workers.
CSX employs about 23,000 people network-wide.
