CSX has been named on Newsweek and Statista's inaugural list of America's Most Charitable Companies, a ranking of 300 U.S.-based businesses that compilers say stand out for being committed to charitable giving and community impact.
CSX ranked at No. 154 overall and at No. 2 among four transportation and logistics companies identified on the list.
In 2025, CSX supported 1,300 community service events and provided resources and assistance to about 70,000 individuals through CSX Pride in Service, which supports veterans, military members, first responders and their families, CSX officials said in a separate press release.
The Newsweek list features only those companies that have published corporate social responsibility, environmental social and governmental or other sustainability reports.
Companies were scored based on a public perception survey taken by more than 18,000 people; social listening, in which researchers tracked and analyzed online conversations and media about corporate giving; and an analysis of documented philanthropic activities, said Jennifer Cunningham, Newsweek editor in chief, in a March 11 announcement letter.
