CSX yesterday announced it has recognized nine short-line partners for outstanding collaboration and commitment to service excellence.
The awards were presented during the company's Short Line Conference held last month in Jacksonville, Florida. The awards honor short lines that demonstrate strong operational performance, a shared focus on safety and service, and a commitment to supporting customer growth across the Class I's network, CSX officials said in a press release.
Winners were selected based on net carload growth, percentage carload growth and switch road growth, they said. CSX connects with more than 240 short lines across its network.
The Class I recognized the following short lines: Columbus & Ohio River Rail; Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad; Effingham Railroad; Falls Road Railroad; MG Rail; Newburgh & South Shore Railroad; Savannah & Old Fort Railroad; Toledo, Peoria & Western Railway; and West Virginia Central Railroad.
"This year’s award recipients exemplify what it means to be a strong CSX partner,” said Ryan Higgins, CSX's vice president of sales and marketing-industrial products. “Their dedication to safety, service and collaboration helps drive shared success for our customers and communities.”
