CSX's annual Santa Train will make its 83rd run on Nov. 22, the Class I announced yesterday.
The train will travel along 110 miles through the Appalachian region to deliver more than 15 tons of toys, gifts and winter accessories to communities along the route.
The locomotive will follow the traditional path taken since 1943 from Shelbiana, Kentucky, to Kingsport, Tennessee, CSX officials said in a press release.
"We're touched by the generations of families who gather to welcome the CSX Santa Train year after year and by the overwhelming support it receives across the country," said Bryan Tucker, CSX's vice president of stakeholder engagement and sustainability.
