On Dec. 12, CSX Corp. announced Robert Grassi will retire as president and chief executive officer of CSX World Terminals (CSXWT), effective Dec. 31. CSX named CSX Corp. Senior Vice President-Corporate Services Andrew Fogarty as Grassi's successor.
Prior to CSXWT, Grassi served Sea-Land Service Inc. for 22 years in various positions, including SVP of finance and planning, and chief financial officer.
"[Grassi] has played a vital role helping to position the company as one of the premier terminal and shipping services companies in the world," said CSX Corp. Chairman, President and CEO Michael Ward in a prepared statement.
Since joining CSX in 1989, Fogarty has served in a number of senior positions, including president of CSX/Sea-Land Logistics, and CFO and SVP-finance and planning for Sea-Land Service. Prior to CSX, he held several government positions in Virginia, including secretary of transportation and the governor's chief of staff. Fogarty currently serves as board chairman of the National Defense Transportation Association.
"Andy's wealth of transportation experience, including maritime, will enable CSXWT to continue its leadership role," said Ward.
