CN named Southern Railway of British Columbia Ltd. (SRY) the recipient of its 2025 Brandon Rudnikoff Short Line Partner of the Year Award at the CN Short Line Conference in Chicago held in spring.
SRY operates over 125 track miles in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, interchanges with CN, CPKC, BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad, and connects the lower mainland to Vancouver Island through its Annacis Rail Marine Terminal.
The annual partner of the year award recognizes short lines that help CN deliver tailored customer solutions, CN representatives said in a press release.
“CN brings supply chain planning and operational scale, while SRY brings regional insights, last-mile solutions, and experience operating safely in high-density areas," they said.
CN cited examples of its collaboration with SRY, including coal operations at Roberts Bank and North Vancouver and the establishment of a new supply chain for steel moving into British Columbia.
