BNSF selects 10East's mobile platform for signaling department

Yesterday, 10East Corp. announced Burlington Northern Santa Fe will implement the Railway Daily Operations Control System (RailDOCS™) Mobile Business Platform to manage federally mandated signal system tests. About 1,500 signal maintainers, inspectors, supervisors and other management personnel will use the wireless electronic testing, inspection, text messaging and scheduling system.
RailDOCS is a Web-based daily operating management system designed for freight railroads and transit agencies. The system offers tools to manage business intelligence and processes, personnel and projects.
"Getting our platform deployed is our short-term initiative, but we will also be working closely with BNSF to integrate our service components with other BNSF systems," said 10East Chief Technology Officer Lester Hightower in a prepared statement.
10East currently is developing a system designed to enable railroads to
address upcoming federally mandated changes to signal configuration management and issues outlined in manufacturers' service bulletins. The company also is devising a material ordering and logistics system, and a combination application designed to support hours of service, cost accounting and payroll reporting.
More than 1,000 CSX Transportation signal maintainers, inspectors and supervisors use 10East's mobile business platform. Other customers include Union Pacific Railroad and several small roads.
