BNSF Railway Co. honored 100 "Employees of the Year" for 2014 at an awards ceremony earlier this week.Selected from 48,000 employees from across the railroad, the 100 winners embody the company's vision and values, and their achievements positively impact BNSF customers, colleagues, owners and communities, BNSF officials said in a press release."From rendering aid in an emergency to implementing business processes that will forever make our railroad better, this distinctive group of employees deserves this special recognition and BNSF’s gratitude," said Carl Ice, president and chief executive officer.Employees were chosen based on a achievements such as reducing rail congestion in heavily populated areas, training more than 800 employees in advanced track inspection and opening the Big Lift Automotive Facility. These contributions served BNSF's most important initiatives, officials said.BNSF also recognized its five safety employees of the year. Winners were chosen from intermodal, mechanical, transportation, engineering and telecommunications. A full list of the winners is available on BNSF's website.
