Amtrak to add Wolverine Service trains for holidays

At the encouragement of the Michigan Department of Transportation, Amtrak will add additional Wolverine service between Michigan and Chicago to accommodate December and January holiday travel.

Amtrak will offer an additional eastbound and additional westbound train between Chicago and Ann Arbor, Mich., on Dec. 22, 26, 27, 29 and 31, and on Jan. 1 and 3, the railroad announced yesterday. Ordinarily, Amtrak provides three daily round trips from Chicago through Ann Arbor, with continuing service to and from Detroit-area stations.

The extra trains were added with permission from Norfolk Southern Railway and CN, Amtrak officials said.
