The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. has added Stevan Bobb and Jeffrey Songer to its board. The election of Bobb and Songer increases Greenbrier's board from eight to 10 members, nine of whom are independent directors, according to a Greenbrier press release. Bobb joins Greenbrier’s board after completing 36 years with the BNSF Railway Co., where his experience included roles in strategic commercial and operational leadership. From 2013 to 2024, Bobb served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Songer joins Greenbrier’s board with 30 years of expertise in operations, engineering and finance, 18 of which were spent in leadership roles at Kansas City Southern through 2024. From 2021 to 2023, Songer served as EVP of strategic merger and planning for KCS during the $31 billion merger that created Canadian Pacific Kansas City. Before that, he managed the railroad's operations in the U.S. and Mexico, spanning transportation, mechanical, engineering, labor and safety functions.
Alstom announced the deployment of three state-of-the-art Innovia APM R trainsets at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia. The fully driverless system was handed over to Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad and is scheduled to start revenue service July 1. The system has the capacity to serve up to 270 passengers per trip. Alstom has provided more than 30 turnkey APM systems at airports worldwide, according to a company press release.
