LIRR contracts Interfleet to monitor, manage service vehicles

MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) recently awarded a five-year, $1.6 million contract to Grey Island Systems International Inc. subsidiary InterFleet Inc. to monitor and manage its 550 service vehicles.

InterFleet will implement its real-time automated vehicle location and fleet management system, which LIRR will host and make accessible over its Intranet. Compatible with LIRR’s existing Oractle Data Base and ESRI Map Servers, the system will require employee swipe-card identification, and feature vehicle diagnosis and power-take-off monitoring capabilities.
