Florida East Coast paints locomotives to promote breast cancer awareness

Florida East Coast Railway L.L.C. (FECR) recently took delivery of two refurbished locomotives featuring a new paint scheme with pink highlights aimed at helping to increase breast cancer awareness.

"These locomotives provide a visible example of FECR's support to find a cure for breast cancer," said FECR President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Hertwig in a press release. "The locomotives were painted in honor of our employees, customers, suppliers and the communities we serve who have fought for the cure."

The locomotives will operate in local service along the 351-mile regional's network. FECR is the naming sponsor for the 19th North Florida Komen Race for the Cure®.

"As we start breast cancer awareness month, we are pleased to partner with FECR to highlight events like our annual Race for the Cure," said Delores Wise, executive director of the Susan G. Komen North Florida Affiliate.
