KCSM, Mexican university team up to develop geo-mapping system

Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) and the University of Nuevo Leon recently signed an agreement to collaborate on the development of a geographic information system designed to use global positioning system technology to map the railroad’s network and facilities.
The new system will provide better geo-mapping data, “allowing for more informed decision-making regarding urban and regional development policies,” said KCSM officials in an item posted on the “KCS News” web page.
