CN in June appointed Etienne Bourgeois vice president of treasury and tax, the Class I announced yesterday on LinkedIn.
Bourgeois is responsible for shaping and executing CN’s financial policies, overseeing the company’s capital structure, financial risk management, taxation and cash management. He also contributes as an internal adviser on mergers and acquisitions, pension strategies and real estate optimization, CN officials posted on the railroad's website.
Bourgeois has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, treasury and taxation. Before joining CN, he served as VP of operations at the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, an institutional investor that manages several public and para-public pension plans and insurance programs. Before that, Bourgeois held senior leadership roles at Ivanhoe Cambridge, including as VP of integrated financial operations and taxation, and head of corporate finance and financial optimization.
