VIA Rail Canada Inc. climbed eight positions in the 2008 National Corporate Reputation Study, ranking 35th among Canada's "Top 100" companies. In addition, the railroad's reputation score improved by two percentage points compared with the 2007 study.
Among transportation providers, VIA finished just behind the 29th-ranked WestJet and well ahead of 83rd-place Air Canada. Study respondents cited VIA's prices, customer service and preference for train travel as reasons for providing a high ranking.
